Honkai Star Rail: Saving the World with a Mobile Game — Chapter 43

July 20, 2026 Calculating...

Chapter 43: Beautiful Girl, Turn into a Beautiful Girl for Me!

Despite breaking free from the Amphoreus storyline and proactively seeking out Herta’s assistance, his actions were still being recorded—or rather, flawlessly predicted—by the game itself.

The realization left a cold, baffling weight in his chest.

Yet, that unsettling truth paled in comparison to the shock of the latest promotional video.

Welt had harbored a lingering suspicion that the voice echoing at the end of the ‘Amphoreus Heroic Annals’ PV sounded hauntingly familiar. Now, after listening to such an extended dialogue sequence, all traces of doubt vanished.

He had never stood face-to-face with her. He only knew her through the stories passed down by a certain old friend.

But she was supposed to have perished many years ago.

“Is something the matter, Mr. Welt?”

Sunday’s polite, measured voice broke through the silence. Welt blinked, pulling himself from the depths of his memories, and offered a faint shake of his head. “No, it is nothing. I was merely recalling some matters from the distant past.”

He rationalized the impossibility. The physical appearances of the two figures were entirely different. One could not definitively identify a person based on a mere vocal inflection., game voice acting was a highly trained profession; just because a timbre sounded similar did not equate to the actual person.

It was impossible. It had to be.

Welt forced the rising tide of suspicion down. If he allowed himself to entertain the thought, he would be forced to question whether he personally knew the enigmatic Author behind this game.

“Wait, Mr. Welt. We have good news.”

Sunday’s sudden interruption drew his focus. Welt noticed the blinking notification on the console at the exact same moment. A message had just arrived from the space station. They had previously requested the researchers to keep an eye out, and against all odds, Herta had actually responded at this critical juncture.

Strange.

But there was no luxury of time to dissect the timing. A shared look of relief washed over both men as they opened the transmission.

“It’s a direct message from the space station!”

“Mr. Welt, look at this!”

“Oh my god, chat? Is this the Grove of Epiphany?”

“It’s gorgeous! The Grove of Epiphany is absolutely stunning!”

“I seriously can’t wrap my head around the fact that this is just a game. Imagine if a place like this actually existed out there in the universe, if these people were real…”

Stepping into the Grove of Epiphany through the screen, the players were greeted by the sight of a colossal, spiraling tree situated in the very center of the court. Its trunk bore the weathered visage of a human face, crowned with a canopy of lush, sun-blotting leaves. The sheer scale of it was staggering.

Guinaifen leaned closer to her monitor, realizing with a start just how deeply addicted she was becoming to this digital world. The characters, the stunning landscapes—it all felt so tangible.

But the harsh reminder that it was entirely fictional left a bitter, inexplicable pang of sadness in her chest.

Melancholy aside, entering the Tree Court triggered a new evolution in Mem. The little creature transitioned from stuttering syllables to coherent sentences, its voice acting suddenly expanding with new vocabulary.

“Do you think if I master the art of needle felting, I’ll grow hands as beautiful as Castorice’s?”

On the screen, Mem planted her hands on her hips, radiating absolute pride. “I just know this expedition into the Grove of Epiphany is going to be incredibly fruitful!”

“I can’t wait… I wonder what kind of upgrades I’ll get this time?”

[Option 1: Obtain powerful new skills!]

[Option 2: Become… even fluffier?]

[Option 3: Turn into a beautiful girl! Do it for me!]

The moment Mem finished speaking, the three dialogue choices materialized on Guinaifen’s interface.

Her eyes scanned the list, twitching violently as they locked onto the final option.

“Turn into a beautiful girl! Do it for me!”

Without a second of hesitation, Guinaifen slammed her finger onto the third choice.

She knew it was a total meme, but this Author really knew exactly how to bait the community. Especially when applied to Stelle’s avatar, it perfectly encapsulated the Trailblazer’s chaotic, abstract personality.

[Choose three! You HAVE to choose three!]

[LMAO, the entire server shares a single brain cell right now.]

[Obviously! We cute girls love cute girls, give me the waifu transformation!]

[Author, you better not be baiting us, waaaah~]

Reacting to the in-game shout, Mem’s digital model projected sheer speechlessness. “Oh, why are you yelling so loud?!”

“Phew… is everyone awake? Ash, Little Rice, and… the pink puppy.”

Stumbling into the frame, Trianne approached with a groggy, half-asleep expression, instantly gifting the community with yet another legendary meme.

“P-Puppy?!” Mem shrieked, utterly scandalized.

[666, Mem just dropped a new nickname!]

[Peak Elation right here. I’m laughing so hard my sides hurt!]

[Pink puppy? Bro really violated her dignity like that, I’m dead 💀]

[Chat is moving too fast, I can’t breathe!]

[It’s too accurate though!]

Guinaifen giggled as she scrolled through the chaotic blur of the chat, guiding her character deeper into the interior of the Tree Court.

As the investigation progressed, the atmosphere grew heavy. Drastic changes had warped the Tree Court, heavily implying that the sanctuary had been corrupted by the black tide long ago.

The scattered clues yielded only ominous fragments: ‘black’, ‘cloak’, and ‘sharp sword’. The imagery immediately sparked a chilling realization among the player base.

This grim intelligence was swiftly relayed back to Okhema. During a tense exchange between Aglaea and Tribbie, it became apparent that the Senate was also entangled in the conspiracy.

According to Castorice’s urgent briefing, the primary objective remained unchanged: locate Anaxa.

The good news? The party managed to uncover a memory projection left behind by Anaxa himself., the Tree Court hadn’t been entirely eradicated; the Sparks were scheduled to arrive at Okhema imminently.

The bad news? The very existence of this projection proved that a catastrophic accident had occurred. The Sparks were likely already lost.

Master Gui, who had been grinding through the questline for hours, sat staring at her monitor with her jaw practically unhinged.

Beside her, Sushang blinked in dazed disbelief.

Just like that? They were just gone?

[Chat, if nothing unexpected happens, something unexpected just happened!]

[Wait, this is Anaxa? Castorice made him sound way more abstract. As one of the Chrysos Heirs, why would he resist Fire Chasing?]

[Hiss! Is he going to be a playable character? Damn, Anaxa is even more arrogant than Mydei. He seems impossible to get along with, definitely not as good as my Dear Jin!]

[If he’s beefing with Aglaea, then I’m an Anaxa hater now!]

[Put some respect on his name, it’s Anaxagoras.]

[Bro upstairs is roleplaying way too hard. You even memorized the full name, nice cosplay!]

[Because I am literally him.]

[Buddy thinks he’s the main character. If you’re Anaxa, then I’m Aglaea! LMAO.]

Meanwhile, far beyond the digital confines of the stream.

Staring at the endless cascade of laughing emojis flooding the holographic bullet chat, the real Anaxa looked as though he were observing a gathering of absolute fools. He let out a long, weary sigh, pressing two fingers against his temple before setting the ‘stone slab’ down on the table.

“Sigh… utterly beyond saving.”

He shook his head, entirely helpless against the sheer absurdity of the internet.

Back in the game, the accident forced Ash and the rest of the party to press forward, relying solely on Anaxa’s lingering guidance.

Along the treacherous path, the group crossed paths with the ghost of Cerces, who had disguised herself as one of the Seven Sages.

Through their combined efforts, they finally confirmed that Anaxa was located at the Enlightenment Throne. It was there that Castorice dramatically unveiled his true identity.

The revelation hit like a physical blow.

That ghost was none other than the Titan of Reason herself, and the truth she imparted was staggering.

Relentlessly hunted by the black swordsman—the very same harbinger of the black tide from the promotional video—she had fractured and hidden the Sparks to keep them out of his grasp. She had then used those very Sparks to preserve Anaxa’s soul, which by all rights should have been completely obliterated while holding back the dark corruption.

The twist left Guinaifen genuinely stunned.

When she had first heard Castorice speak of Anaxa—a rebel who opposed Fire Chasing and defied the gods—she had fully expected him to be a quintessential villain aligned with the Senate.

Meeting his digital phantom had only reinforced that belief; his arrogance was practically suffocating.

She never could have anticipated that this haughty figure had willingly woven an inescapable net across the Tree Court, sacrificing his own soul to be torn apart just to quarantine the black tide and protect the rest of the realm.

“As expected of the Titan of Reason. That is one hell of a deep scheme,” Guinaifen murmured, her tone shifting from playful to deeply respectful.

The final objective updated: proceed to the Throne of Reason, reconstruct the shattered Sparks, and strike down the black-clad swordsman.

Following the trail of Anaxa’s memory crystals, the players felt the phantom weight of his final march toward the throne.

“Heh… my eyes can no longer see…”

“No matter. As long as I place this body into the formation core.”

“For Amphoreus… be buried with me, Titan.”

As the tragic, defiant scenes played out one after another, a deep surge of reverence washed over the audience.

[The immersion is insane right now. My blood is literally boiling.]

[NGL, I thought this game was just going to milk the HSR cast for easy money. I didn’t expect the Author’s original Amphoreus characters to go this hard.]

The tension peaked as they finally arrived at the epicenter of the tragedy.

At the apex of that colossal tree throne, a lone warrior clad in pitch-black armor stood with his back turned to them. His hand rested on the hilt of a dark blade. Slowly, he turned, finally revealing his full, terrifying presence to the world.

Guinaifen’s eyes widened to their absolute limits. “It’s him! The one from the PV!”
