Chapter 468: Uchiha Akira Arrives on the Battlefield

“They have already broken through the first line of defense!”

The desperate shout of the communications ninja shattered the chaotic murmur inside the command tent. A suffocating silence instantly descended upon the camp. Maps were left half-unrolled. Breathing grew shallow.

The strategic board painted a grim picture. The new generation’s vanguard—Naruto, Sasuke, and Gaara—were pinned down in a brutal stalemate. Uchiha Fugaku lay in the medical bay, his body battered and heavily injured. Hatake Kakashi had collapsed from severe chakra exhaustion during the last skirmish, his condition critical.

Despite the crushing weight of the situation, Jiraiya stood firm. As a veteran of countless wars, panic was a luxury he could not afford. His jaw tightened.

“It seems… there is no other choice.”

Taking a slow, measured breath, the Toad Sage reached deep into his robes. His calloused fingers closed around cold, uniquely forged metal. He withdrew a specialized kunai, its three-pronged blade gleaming with an otherworldly luster.

The Amenominaka Kunai.

A direct lifeline bestowed upon him by the Fifth Hokage, Uchiha Akira. Without a fraction of hesitation, Jiraiya flared his chakra, flooding the complex sealing formulas etched into the dark steel.

Miles away, within the tranquil borders of Konohagakure.

The early morning sunlight filtered through light purple window screens, casting a warm, hazy glow across the expansive bed inside the Hokage’s residence. The air in the room was thick with a sweet, lingering warmth, carrying the quiet intimacy of the previous night’s passion.

Uchiha Akira opened his eyes.

There was no grogginess, no slow transition from sleep to wakefulness. His dark, abyssal gaze was instantly sharp, calculating, and perfectly lucid. He shifted his head against the pillows.

Curled against his side, resting peacefully in his embrace, was Yuhi Kurenai. She breathed softly, her form relaxed like a contented kitten. Her crimson silk nightgown had slipped off one shoulder, exposing the flawless, snow-white skin of her collarbone and back.

The slight shift in the mattress stirred her. Kurenai’s long, dark eyelashes fluttered. She slowly opened her eyes, revealing striking ruby irises still clouded with sleep.

“Akira…” Her voice was a soft, husky murmur. “So early… are you getting up already?”

Akira raised a hand, his fingers tracing a slow, soothing path down the smooth curve of her bare back. He leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss against her forehead.

“I have a small matter to take care of.”

Beneath his calm exterior, his senses were already locked onto a distinct spatial ripple. The Amenominaka Kunai. He had entrusted that specific blade to only a select few of his absolute loyalists. The unique chakra signature connecting through the void belonged to Jiraiya. For the veteran Sannin to activate it, the frontline had to be facing a catastrophic shift.

“Is it… official business?” Kurenai asked, a hint of reluctance in her tone.

Yet, she made no move to hold him back. She was a brilliant, perceptive kunoichi. As the woman standing beside the Fifth Hokage, she understood the crushing weight of the mantle he wore.

“You could say that,” Akira replied, the corner of his lips curling into a faint, reassuring smile.

He sat up, the silk sheets falling away to reveal his sculpted upper body. His physique was a flawless weapon, corded with lean, explosive muscle. Every inch of his frame radiated an underlying, world-shattering power.

Kurenai gazed up at the man who commanded her absolute devotion, her ruby eyes softening with deep affection. Ignoring the lingering soreness in her limbs, she pushed herself up, draping a sheer silk robe over her shoulders. Kneeling gracefully on the mattress, she reached out to help him dress, her fingers deftly securing his garments.

“Come back early,” she murmured softly, smoothing out the dark collar of his attire.

Akira looked down at her gentle, water-like demeanor. He reached out, lightly pinching her soft cheek in a rare display of warmth.

“Do not worry.” His voice was a low, confident promise. “I will be back before you know it.”

The moment the words left his lips, the space around him warped. A sharp hum vibrated through the air, and his figure distorted, vanishing entirely into the void.

Back on the battlefield, the horizon was bleeding.

A dense, endless tide of enemy shinobi surged forward like a black flood, their momentum threatening to swallow the earth itself. This was the vanguard of the opposing Ninja Allied Forces. The blinding flashes of elemental ninjutsu tore through the sky, accompanied by deafening explosions and bloodcurdling battle cries that shook the very foundations of the world.

“The first line of defense has collapsed!”

“The second line is requesting immediate reinforcements!”

“The enemy vanguard is three kilometers away from the main camp!”

Frantic battle reports flooded into the command tent, each one more dire than the last.

Jiraiya stood rigid before the tactical map, his face carved from stone. The board was a disaster. Their three heaviest hitters—Naruto, Sasuke, and Gaara—were locked in a death struggle against unkillable Edo Tensei monsters. Kakashi was unconscious. Might Guy had already taken the last of the elite reserves to plug the bleeding holes at the front.

“That brute Raikage, and that old fox Ōnoki…” Jiraiya ground his teeth together. He slammed his heavy fist onto the wooden table, splintering the edge. “They actually dared to launch a full-scale assault at a time like this.”

A sharp, unnatural hum sliced through the heavy tension.

Without a single warning sign, the space in the center of the tent violently distorted. A vortex of dark chakra spiraled outward, and a tall, imposing figure stepped from the void.

“F-Fifth Hokage-sama!”

Nara Shikaku was the first to recognize the terrifying pressure flooding the room. The brilliant strategist’s voice cracked, betraying his overwhelming relief.

The effect was instantaneous. Every high-ranking Konoha official, commander, and elite jonin inside the tent dropped to one knee in perfect, synchronized reverence.

“Akira.” Jiraiya’s rigid shoulders slumped. The Toad Sage exhaled a long, heavy breath, releasing the crushing stress that had been suffocating him. “You are finally here.”

Akira offered a curt nod. His cold, abyssal eyes swept across the kneeling commanders, assessing the room in a fraction of a second before locking onto Jiraiya.

“The situation. Report.” His voice was calm, yet it carried an absolute, unquestionable authority.

Jiraiya immediately straightened his posture. He jabbed a finger at the cluster of red markers breaking through their lines on the map.

“The combined forces of Kumogakure and Iwagakure are tearing through our frontal defense. They are being personally led by the Fourth Raikage, Ay, and the Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki.”

He moved his finger to a separate, isolated sector.

“Naruto, Sasuke, and Gaara are trapped on the Eastern Battlefield. They are engaged in a brutal stalemate against Namikaze Minato, Uchiha Itachi, and several other powerhouses resurrected by Orochimaru’s Edo Tensei.” Jiraiya’s expression darkened. “Kakashi is heavily injured and unconscious. Guy has taken the last of our reserves to reinforce the vanguard.”

Akira absorbed the tactical nightmare without a single shift in his expression. He simply nodded.

“I see.” He turned his gaze toward the tent’s exit, his dark eyes narrowing slightly. “Issue the orders.”

“Jiraiya.”

“Here!” Jiraiya barked, his combat instincts fully ignited.

“You, Terumi Mei, and Deidara will take the remaining forces and intercept the enemy vanguard.”

In the shadowed corner of the tent, Deidara paused. He had been idly molding a piece of explosive clay between his fingers, looking utterly bored with the strategic meeting. At Akira’s command, the rogue bomber’s head snapped up, a manic, fanatical gleam igniting in his eyes.

“Take whoever is left and engage them directly,” Akira commanded, his tone dripping with cold disdain. “Drive those so-called allied forces back into the dirt.”

“Yes, Hokage-sama!” The kneeling commanders roared in unison, their morale instantly restored by his mere presence.

As the officers scrambled to execute their orders, Jiraiya hesitated. He cast a worried glance toward the map’s eastern sector.

“Akira, what about Naruto and the others?” The Sannin’s brow furrowed. “They are facing the Edo Tensei Fourth Hokage and Uchiha Itachi. We have no idea if Orochimaru has more undead monsters waiting in the wings. Can those three kids really handle a threat of that magnitude on their own?”

“Do not worry about them.”

Akira clasped his hands loosely behind his back, his posture exuding absolute control.

“A young eagle will never learn to conquer the sky if it is shielded from the storm.” His dark eyes reflected a ruthless, calculating wisdom. “If they truly wish to surpass their predecessors, they must cross this hurdle with their own strength. Let them fight.”

A faint, dangerous smirk touched Akira’s lips. “I will be watching.”

Jiraiya’s heart jolted. The underlying meaning was clear. If Uchiha Akira said he was watching, it meant he had absolute control over the battlefield. If the boys were truly pushed to the brink of death, the Fifth Hokage would intervene. They were safe.

“Understood!” Jiraiya spun on his heel, his cloak billowing behind him. The heavy, oppressive aura of the Toad Sage erupted from his body. “Everyone! Form up! We counterattack!”

Just as the commanders turned to rush out of the tent, a violent, desperate thrashing echoed from the medical bay in the corner.

“Wait… wait…”

The hoarse, strained voice belonged to Uchiha Fugaku. The former clan head was a mess of blood-soaked bandages, his face a sickly, ashen pale. Itachi’s strike had been mercilessly precise. The medical ninja had barely managed to stabilize his vitals, dragging him back from the edge of death. He was in no condition to stand, let alone fight.

“Fugaku-sama! You cannot move!” a nearby medical ninja cried out in panic, rushing forward to press the wounded man back onto the bloody stretcher.

“Get away from me!” Fugaku snarled, his pride flaring.

He shoved the medic aside with a trembling arm. Fighting through agonizing pain, he staggered forward. His legs gave out after three steps, but he forced himself into a kneeling posture directly before Uchiha Akira.

“Hokage-sama…” Fugaku panted heavily, sweat and blood dripping from his chin as he forced himself to look up into Akira’s cold eyes. His voice trembled, not from fear, but from a burning, unyielding resolve. “Please… allow me to go into battle…”
