Marvel x Genshin: Mavuika, The Sun Goddess Rules Asgard — Chapter 35

Chapter 35: The Reality Stone

The Aether thrashed wildly, a chaotic storm of scarlet energy trying to break free, but it was trapped, firmly locked within the cage of divine flames that radiated from Mavuika.

She reached out her hand. At her silent command, the tri-colored flames—Asgard’s brilliant gold, the Pyro Archon’s crimson, and the abyssal black of the Eternal Flame—twisted and solidified. They formed a shimmering chain that snaked through the air, wrapping itself around the Aether Particle and slowly, inexorably, pulling the cosmic power before her.

The Aether pulsed and struggled within its fiery bonds, its raw energy lashing out in a desperate attempt to resist. Yet, against the combined might of three divine sources, its efforts were futile. It could not escape Mavuika’s absolute control.

Gradually, the violent scarlet energy grew docile. It settled into a gentle rotation in Mavuika’s palm, emitting a soft, pulsating light. Under the intense, refining heat of her flames, the liquid-like particle energy that formed the Aether’s outer shell began to hiss and evaporate, burning away to reveal the true core hidden within.

What remained was a gemstone, roughly the size of a thumb. It was irregular in shape, its facets cut by nature itself, and glowed with the same deep scarlet hue as the Aether it once commanded.

“This is…” Mavuika murmured, studying the gemstone in her hand. It felt different from the fluidic, chaotic nature of the Aether—more stable, more ancient, and far more potent.

“The Reality Stone,” Odin’s voice was low and resonant. He lowered Gungnir, the Eternal Spear, and walked to his daughter’s side. His single eye gazed at the stone, a complex mix of awe and caution flashing within its depths.

Mavuika looked up at her father, awaiting his explanation.

Odin continued, his tone taking on the weight of cosmic history. “In the beginning, before the universe was born, there were six singularities. When the cosmos erupted into existence, the remnants of these singularities were forged into six Infinity Stones, each possessing unimaginable power.” He gestured toward the gem in her hand. “This is one of them. It holds the power to rewrite the very laws of reality.”

“Rewrite the laws of reality?” Mavuika was taken aback by the sheer scale of such a concept. A flicker of confusion crossed her face. “Then Malekith…”

Having just engaged in a titanic battle and decisively defeated the Dark Elf king, she found it hard to reconcile his performance with the power she now held. While the Aether had been strange and formidable, it certainly hadn’t demonstrated the ability to arbitrarily warp reality itself. If it had, Malekith would not have been vanquished so easily; Mavuika might not have been able to win at all.

Sensing his daughter’s doubt, a faint smile touched Odin’s lips. “The Infinity Stones are instruments of cosmic might, my dear, but wielding them is not a simple task. A mortal, even one as ambitious as Malekith, can only hope to channel a fraction of their true potential. To overuse such power invites a terrible backlash, a price that could unravel the user’s very existence.”

“I see.” Mavuika nodded, the pieces falling into place. She looked up at her father, her expression firming with resolve. “Then it must be kept safe. Power of this magnitude is too dangerous to be left unsecured.”

Odin nodded in grim agreement. “After the war is concluded, we will store it in the deepest vault in Asgard and place upon it the most powerful seals we can devise.”

With the immediate threat of the Reality Stone contained, Mavuika turned her gaze downward, to the chaotic battle still raging below where the remnants of the Dark Elf fleet fought on with desperate futility.

A flash of cold light crossed her eyes. She raised her hand once more, summoning the Sun-Blaze of a Thousand Suns. The tri-colored flames surged, condensing into a colossal beam of pure energy that lanced down from the heavens, aimed directly at the dense formation of enemy warships.

**Boom—!!**

The torrent of divine fire scythed through the Dark Elf fleet, annihilating everything in its path. Wherever the beam passed, warships were vaporized, their dark metal hulls disintegrating into superheated fragments and blossoming fireballs that littered the sky.

Terrified commanders screamed orders for a full retreat. The remaining ships banked violently, engines straining as they tried to escape the airspace that had been transformed into a celestial purgatory. But there was no escape. Mavuika guided the beam of destruction, sweeping it back and forth through the fleeing armada. No vessel, no matter its size or armor, could withstand the raw power of her attack for even a single moment.

The Dark Elf fleet shattered.

What little hope remained turned to absolute despair. The surviving elves piloted their damaged craft in every direction, their only thought to flee Asgard’s territory. Seizing this moment of total collapse, Asgard’s warriors launched their final charge. Coordinated with the aerial fleet, they hunted down and annihilated the stragglers, ensuring none would escape.

The sudden, brutal war had finally ended with Asgard’s complete and overwhelming victory.

Golden sunlight pierced through the dissipating clouds, illuminating the war-torn landscape below. The oppressive gloom brought by the Dark Elves was completely dispelled, and the very air seemed to hum with the scent of triumph.

When the last Dark Elf soldier on the ground cast down his weapon and fell to his knees in surrender, when the final enemy warship in the sky vanished into a cascade of fading light, and when the sun once again shone unobstructed upon the golden world of Asgard… a cheer finally erupted.

It started as a single cry, then swelled into a thunderous roar. Warriors raised their weapons high, shouting the names of Mavuika and Odin. Citizens poured from the shelters, their faces streaked with a mixture of tears and joyous smiles as they celebrated their hard-won salvation.

“ASGARD! ASGARD! ASGARD!”

“SUN GODDESS! SUN GODDESS! SUN GODDESS!”

The cheers rose like a tidal wave, each crest higher than the last. Battle-hardened warriors knelt on the ground, overcome with emotion. Civilians embraced and wept openly. Even Odin, the stoic Allfather, looked up at his eldest daughter, the brilliant sun reflected in his eye, a deeply gratified smile gracing his lips.

Mavuika slowly descended from the sky, the divine light surrounding her gradually converging back into her form. She touched down in the square before the Golden Palace, landing on ground that had been ravaged by war but was already showing signs of recovery.

Her face was a touch pale. The expenditure of energy had been immense. Even with the inexhaustible well of the Eternal Flame, casting the Resurrection Poem on such a grand scale was a heavy burden on her soul. But she stood tall, her posture unwavering.

From across the battlefield, Hela approached. Her armor was shattered in places and stained with the dark blood of her enemies, but her eyes were brighter and more alive than ever. She walked to Mavuika’s side, stood in silence for a few seconds, and then spoke with a wry smirk. “You stole the limelight again…”

Her smirk softened into genuine pride. “But… well done, sister.”

Mavuika turned to her and smiled, a warmth returning to her cheeks. “You too.”

The two sisters stood side-by-side, gazing out at the Asgardian warriors clearing the battlefield, at the setting sun painting the horizon in hues of orange and gold, and at the beautiful, scarred kingdom they had both fought to protect.

Odin walked up behind them, his voice gentle. “Go. See your mother and your brothers. Leave the cleanup to me.”

Mavuika and Hela nodded, turning to walk toward the Golden Palace. Along the way, they saw the warriors who had been “reborn” by the grace of the Resurrection Poem. They were tirelessly helping to treat the wounded, collect the fallen, and begin repairing the damaged structures. As the two princesses passed, the soldiers paused their work, one after another, and bowed low, their eyes filled with a reverence that bordered on worship.

Deep within the palace, Frigga stood at the doorway of the royal chambers, holding Thor and Loki in her arms. A relieved and loving smile graced her face as she waited for her daughters’ return.

In his mother’s arms, Thor waved his tiny hands and babbled happily. Loki, however, was quiet, his ice-blue eyes wide with curiosity as he stared at the two towering figures who were covered in the grime of battle yet radiated an aura of brilliant light.

Mavuika walked over and gently brushed a hand through Thor’s soft, golden hair. She then looked at Loki, her fingers reaching out to lightly touch the ice crystal that adorned his small forehead. The infant prince giggled, his tiny hand wrapping around her finger.

Hela stood a small distance away, observing the tender scene, an unreadable expression on her face.

The sun finally sank completely below the horizon, and the star-dusted sky of Asgard lit up, clear and quiet.

The war was over.

The threat of the Dark Elves had been utterly eradicated. The Reality Stone was sealed away. Across the Nine Realms, none dared to challenge Asgard’s authority. At this moment, the prestige of the Golden Realm reached its absolute zenith.

The conquered races, some of whom had harbored resentment and plotted rebellion, completely abandoned all thoughts of dissent after witnessing Asgard’s might and Mavuika’s divine power. One by one, they sent envoys to offer their fealty and express their awe.

Mavuika stood beside Odin at the great celebration, with Frigga, Hela, and the young Thor and Loki gathered around them. Below, Asgard’s warriors and citizens cheered, their voices echoing through the cosmos.

The shadow that had loomed over the Nine Realms was gone. A new, more glorious era, guided by the strength of Asgard, was slowly unfolding.
