Marvel x Genshin: Mavuika, The Sun Goddess Rules Asgard — Chapter 128

June 22, 2026 Calculating...

Chapter 128: An Impossible Wall

Hulk lay broken in the ruins, soaked to the bone. He struggled to rise, a low groan rumbling in his chest, but Abomination was already standing over him.

The monstrous creature lifted a foot and stomped down, bringing his full weight to bear on Hulk’s chest.

Crack.

The street fractured beneath the force.

Hulk’s body was driven deeper into the shattered concrete. He clawed at Abomination’s ankle, trying to push him away, but the limb was as heavy as a mountain, utterly immovable.

Abomination leaned down, his grotesque face inches from Hulk’s.

“Is that all you’ve got?” he rasped, his voice thick with the hollow disappointment that comes after a long-sought victory.

He straightened up, casting his gaze across the ravaged street.

Soldiers were still scrambling to form a defensive line. A perimeter of police cars cordoned off several blocks, their flashing lights painting the scene in frantic strokes of red and blue. From a safe distance, reporters trembled as they broadcast the nightmarish spectacle to the world.

The civilian evacuation was not yet complete.

A little girl in a pink hoodie stood frozen in the middle of the road, either paralyzed by fear or waiting for a mother who would never return.

Abomination saw her. He reached out a hand with casual indifference, like a man plucking a piece of fruit from a high branch.

And then, Mavuika moved.

A torrent of golden-red flame erupted across the early morning street.

She leaped from the Flamestrider, her form moving so fast that her afterimage blurred into a searing streak of light. She landed silently before the little girl, directly beneath the descending giant hand, a hand capable of crushing steel into scrap.

With a single palm held aloft, she met Abomination’s.

That hand—the one that could hurl cars for hundreds of meters, punch through concrete walls, and pin the Hulk so he couldn’t move…

Stopped.

It was as if it had struck an invisible, unbreakable wall.

Abomination froze, stunned. He lowered his head, his gaze falling upon this… human? This woman who didn’t even reach his knee.

Golden-red hair cascaded down her back, framing a pair of calm amber eyes. Unextinguished sparks of fire still danced around her body, casting a warm glow on her skin. Her fingers were pressed against his palm, the force so light it felt more like she was calming an irritable beast than holding back a monster.

Abomination stared. He didn’t understand.

He had been remade, transformed into a weapon that had shattered every human limit. He felt he could kill ten of the legendary Captain America with a single punch. He had just ground the Hulk under his heel like an insect.

Yet this person, this tiny woman, had stopped his full, crushing weight with one hand.

“What are you?” he demanded.

Mavuika didn’t answer him. She tilted her head slightly, her voice soft as she spoke to the little girl behind her.

“Close your eyes, child.”

The little girl stared up at her, her expression blank with shock.

Mavuika offered her a small smile. It was a gentle, warm expression, like a mother’s just before turning off the lights for bed.

The little girl obediently squeezed her eyes shut.

Mavuika turned her head back to face Abomination.

Her fingers, still pressed against his massive palm, gave a gentle push.

Abomination’s entire body was launched backward as if he’d been hit head-on by a freight train at full speed. He tumbled through the air, smashed clean through an abandoned school bus, and snapped a thick steel lamppost in two. He finally crashed into the ground-floor facade of an office building, bringing the wall down in an avalanche of brick and rubble that buried half his body.

A dead silence fell over the street.

The soldiers stopped firing.

The reporters forgot their lines.

Civilians, hiding behind cars and in doorways, slowly poked their heads out.

Even the Hulk managed to prop himself up from the crater he’d been forced into, staring at Mavuika with complex eyes that swirled with wariness and utter confusion.

She stood alone in the center of the chaos, her long, golden-red hair fluttering gently in the early morning wind.

Abomination clawed his way out of the ruins.

He looked down at the palm of his right hand, his expression shifting from shock to raw anger, and from anger to a far more dangerous, uncontrollable rage.

“You—”

“This is impossible.”

Abomination heard his own voice, a hoarse, deep sound like sandpaper grating against steel. He took a step forward, and the concrete street shattered under his foot, leaving another deep impression.

“This is impossible!”

His roar shattered the few remaining panes of glass in the nearby storefronts. Shards rained down, refracting the morning sun into a thousand blinding points of light.

“I have Hulk’s power—I have surpassed him! I am the strongest creature in the world! The strongest in the world—!!”

He roared again, his muscles swelling, his earthy-yellow skin taking on an unhealthy, flushed hue. He had to prove it, to this woman and to himself, who the strongest being on this street truly was.

He lunged at Mavuika again.

This time he was even faster. The ground beneath his feet exploded as he pushed off, leaving a crater three meters wide. He shot forward like a cannonball, carrying enough kinetic energy to level a building, aimed directly at that slender figure.

BOOM—!!!

It wasn’t the dull thud of a fist meeting flesh. It was the deafening roar of two mountains colliding.

The air itself compressed into a visible shockwave that blasted outward from the point of impact. The already-damaged shop windows on both sides of the street were instantly atomized. A military Humvee parked twenty meters away was flipped onto its side, tumbling three times like a child’s toy.

Abomination’s fist was stopped, inches from Mavuika’s face, caught in her palm.

He put everything he had into the blow. Every muscle burned, every tendon was stretched to its breaking point. He could hear the faint groan of his own bones under the immense pressure, but his fist could not advance a single millimeter.

That hand—that slender hand that didn’t even look calloused—was an impossible fortress wall.

“Impossible…” Abomination muttered, his voice a strangled whisper.

He wrenched his fist back and struck again.

Left fist. Right fist. A two-fisted hammer blow.

An elbow strike. A shoulder bash. A headbutt.

Every attack carried his full strength. Every strike could have flattened a tank into an iron pancake. Every single attack…

Was gently blocked by that one hand.

Mavuika hadn’t even shifted her stance. She simply stood in place, effortlessly weathering Abomination’s hurricane of blows.

“Impossible… Impossible… IMPOSSIBLE!!”

Abomination’s voice twisted from anger into madness, from madness into a desperate, cracking roar that bordered on a sob.

He didn’t understand. He couldn’t understand.

He had obtained the power he had dreamed of. He could kill dozens of the man he used to be, Emil Blonsky, with a single punch. He could smash the Hulk’s face into the pavement with one foot. He could tear open armored vehicles with his bare hands and leap hundreds of meters into the air. He had been reveling in the near-godlike pleasure of the destruction he caused.

But now, this woman who barely reached his knee was telling him with her actions—

‘You are still weak.’

“What… exactly are you?!”

Abomination stumbled back, his chest heaving violently. Large beads of sweat oozed from his sallow skin, glistening with an oily sheen in the morning light. In his eyes, for the very first time, an emotion appeared that should have been alien to him.

Fear.

Mavuika finally spoke.

“Just someone passing by, that’s all.”

Her voice wasn’t loud, but it carried with perfect clarity across the silent street.

Unwillingness and rage gnawed at what was left of his sanity. Abomination roared, squeezing the absolute limit from every muscle fiber in his body. His fists, carrying an devastating force, smashed down toward Mavuika, his one desire to utterly crush this tiny, impossible person.
