Honkai Star Rail: Saving the World with a Mobile Game — Chapter 4
Chapter 4: Honkai: Star Rail, Activate!
With his declaration hanging in the air, Ash immediately prepared to start the demonstration.
He pulled his mobile phone from his pocket. The screen flared to life, the game having already bypassed the login sequence to reach the loading page. A pristine, high-definition animation played out across the glass: the Astral Express tore through the cosmos, leaving a trail of brilliant starlight in its wake. As the scrolling animation settled, the main title screen materialized, revealing a stunning celestial body shaped like a perfect infinity symbol.
Amphoreus.
The name was etched in elegant, glowing script on the right side of the cosmic map.
This sudden visual projection caused the surrounding Chrysos Heirs to widen their eyes in absolute shock. The grand hall fell into a silence so absolute that the dropping of a single pin would have echoed like thunder. They leaned in, holding their breath, desperate to burn every pixel of the image into their memories.
“Is this… Amphoreus?” Phainon asked, his speaking speed slowing down to a reverent crawl. “The world beneath our feet. The one we love so deeply.”
“Partner, what exactly do you plan to do? Do you need my assistance?”
Cyrene leaned close to Ash. Her gentle smile carried a hint of intimate warmth, her soft breath brushing against his shoulder as her gaze swept over the glowing screen of his mobile phone. The faint, sweet scent of her perfume mingled with the ancient incense of the room.
Ash had already made up his mind. He was going to spread the legendary deeds of Amphoreus across the universe through this very game. He knew that with the epic, blood-soaked, and magnificent history of this world, combined with the creative genius embedded within the Honkai: Star Rail system, it would inevitably ignite a massive storm of attention.
“I am going to write the true stories of Amphoreus and every single Chrysos Heir,” Ash said, his voice steady and carrying a quiet weight. “I will spread every hidden detail, every sacrifice, and every triumph of this place through the game.”
He turned his head slightly, meeting Cyrene’s gaze. “Cyrene, I might actually need your help with this.”
“If there is anything you require, just call my name.” She offered a melodic, airy laugh.
Ash shifted his attention toward the distant horizon of Amphoreus visible through the grand windows. “The Iron Tomb virus is still spreading out there. I need everyone to help me isolate the infected crowds and secure the perimeter.”
He tapped the screen of his phone. “At the same time, please help me promote this game across Amphoreus. The more people who know about it, the stronger our foundation becomes.”
The power of the local populace was a force to be reckoned with., Amphoreus possessed ancient ‘Stone Slabs’—mystical artifacts that functioned remarkably like modern smart devices. They were perfectly capable of running Honkai: Star Rail. Now that all the Chrysos Heirs were gathered in one place, coordinating this massive effort was entirely within their grasp.
“Understood, partner,” Cyrene replied softly. “However… is the Astral Express depicted here the exact same one from your memories?”
She paused, her eyes reflecting the starlight from the screen. “If you truly want to spread the story of Amphoreus, which version of history do you plan to use?”
In Cyrene’s thirty million lifetimes of agonizing effort, her divine record—As I Have Written—had already been overflowing with the tragic and glorious stories of countless heroes. The sheer volume of branching paths, failed timelines, and alternate destinies made choosing a single narrative a daunting task.
But Ash already held the answer in his mind.
If he had to choose, he would select the most special, the most agonizingly beautiful timeline of them all: the life of As It Was At First Sight from the original story.
Only Ash possessed the memories of that specific lifetime. In this current, second playthrough where he actively intervened, things had gone entirely differently. Even the thirteen oracles had proven completely ineffective, allowing the Chrysos Heirs of this lifetime to return the fire seeds with relative ease. To the current citizens of Amphoreus, the once-dreaded oracles had been reduced to nothing more than casual after-dinner gossip. They had forgotten the true price of their survival.
“I already have the answer.” Ash looked at Cyrene, his expression turning deeply serious. “It has to be a romantic epic. Something vastly different from the peaceful reality they know now.”
He offered a faint smile. “Just like it was at first sight. I’ll leave the logistical preparations to you, Cyrene.”
A deeply trusting smile blossomed on Cyrene’s face. “I am truly looking forward to seeing what kind of romantic poem my partner can write.”
Having walked through fire and blood to reach this point, the two of them no longer needed excessive words to understand each other’s intentions. The other Chrysos Heirs exchanged curious glances, their interest thoroughly piqued regarding which specific lifetime Ash intended to immortalize.
“Very well. We will depart immediately to gather the citizens of Okhema,” Aglaea said, spreading her hands in a graceful, commanding gesture.
Beside her, Keluida rested one hand on her hip, her chin tilting upward. “Allow me, the Empress, to lend my absolute authority to this endeavor as well.”
With the plan set in motion, Ash turned around and retreated to his private quarters.
He sat at his desk, his fingers flying across the glowing screen of his mobile phone. He accessed the system interface and directly uploaded the fully generated game client to the interstellar gaming network.
In the highly advanced, interconnected universe of Honkai: Star Rail, civilizations had long established instantaneous communication networks. Information dissemination across the stars was terrifyingly fast.
But staring at the dazzling, endlessly scrolling feed of the interstellar game channel, Ash felt a sudden headache coming on.
Although Honkai: Star Rail was a masterpiece based on reality, packed with complex plot points and hidden lore that only he knew, the digital marketplace was a ruthless warzone. Without a massive publicity push, trying to attract players was like tossing a single pebble into a raging ocean.
“It seems that in this situation, it is time to use my personal connections.”
Ash chuckled to himself. He minimized the developer console, opened his text messaging application, and scrolled straight to the Xianzhou Luofu contact list.
Having traveled across the stars alongside Stelle, he had built a network of acquaintances stretching from the frozen wastes of Belobog to the neon-lit dreamscapes of Penacony. It just so happened that Guinaifen was currently residing on the Xianzhou Luofu. As an energetic street performer and an internet streamer with millions of dedicated followers, she was the absolute perfect candidate to market his new creation.
He quickly typed out a barrage of messages.
[Ash: Little Gui! Little Gui! Little Gui! Little Gui!]
[Notification: Incoming Message…]
[Little Gui: Ash Ash Ash Ash!]
[Little Gui: Family, you rarely ever message me! What brings you to my inbox today?]
Ash grinned. She was as hyperactive as ever.
[Ash: Little Gui, are you streaming right now?]
[Sticker: Pom-Pom Question Mark]
[Little Gui: Eh? How did you know I was live? You aren’t secretly lurking in my chat, are you?]
[Ash: No, just a telepathic connection!]
[Sticker: March 7th Thumbs Up]
[Little Gui: So that’s it, telepathy!]
[Sticker: March 7th Thumbs Up]
The corners of Ash’s mouth curled up. He opened the file manager, attached the game client, and fired it over to her.
[Ash: Enough joking around. I’m looking for you because I have something genuinely important.]
[Ash: I happen to have a brand new game here. Since you’re already streaming, I figured I’d send it over. Try it out live and tell your audience what you think.]
[Notification: File successfully delivered.]
On the other end of the jade screen, light-years away on the bustling streets of the Xianzhou Luofu, Guinaifen stared at the incoming file. Her bright eyes blinked in utter confusion.
She read the title aloud to herself. “Honkai: Star Rail?”
Star Rail?
The file description even specifically noted an ‘Amphoreus Version’. How did this sound so suspiciously related to the Astral Express? Was this some sort of cheap, cobbled-together fanwork made by an overly enthusiastic amateur?
To be completely honest, the interstellar gaming channels were currently flooded with low-effort garbage and knock-off titles., she had never even heard of a place called ‘Amphoreus’ in her entire life.
Considering Ash was an actual passenger on the Astral Express, did he seriously send her this bizarre file just to have her critique a random fan-made parody?
An idea sparked in her mind.
“Maybe I can turn this into a ‘Trash Game Diagnosis’ segment?” she muttered, her streamer instincts kicking in.
She quickly typed her reply.
[Little Gui: Understood, family! I was just struggling to think of new content for the stream anyway. I’ll help you review it live!]
Ash replied with a final sticker, closed the messaging app, and immediately booted up the interstellar streaming platform to tune into Guinaifen’s channel.
“Hook, line, and sinker,” he murmured.
At that exact moment, Little Gui was busy adjusting her holographic projection equipment.
[Chat: What’s going on? Little Gui was streaming just fine, why did the screen suddenly go black?]
[Chat: Eh, I hear typing sounds. Little Gui wouldn’t happen to be chatting with a guy, would she?]
[Chat: She’s guarding her screen against her own bros?!]
[Chat: Could it be that Little Gui is secretly in a relationship? She’s actually texting her boyfriend while streaming outdoors, wuwuwu~]
[Chat: Family, I’m heartbroken! The kind of heartbreak that can’t be cured!]
Seeing the sudden blackout, the millions of viewers in the stream started flooding the bullet chat with wild accusations and crying emojis.
And then, right at the peak of their digital panic.
A single, pristine point of starlight suddenly ignited in the center of the pitch-black screen. The elegant, metallic logo of Honkai: Star Rail faded into view.
Before anyone could even blink.
The light violently burst forth.
A stunning cinematic sequence hijacked the stream. Massive meteorites, burning stars, and a stunningly rendered blue planet appeared simultaneously in crystal-clear, hyper-realistic definition.
A second later, the roar of an engine shook the audio feed.
The Astral Express tore through the vacuum of space. The camera perspective dynamically shifted, panning around the majestic train as it accelerated toward a distant, impossibly deep nebula, leaving a trail of golden fire across the cosmos.
