Honkai Impact: My Power Grows When Valkyries Fall For Me — Chapter 92

August 30, 2026 Calculating...

Chapter 92: World Serpent

The next morning, slivers of early sunlight sliced through the gaps in the curtains, painting stripes of gold across the room.

Lucian’s eyes fluttered open. He stared blankly at the ceiling for a few long seconds, the events of the previous night replaying in his mind. After walking Durandal back to her room, he had tossed and turned for what felt like an eternity before sleep finally claimed him.

He rolled over, his hand fumbling for his phone on the nightstand. The screen lit up, displaying the time.

7:15 AM.

Lucian stared at the numbers, a soft sigh escaping his lips. It was earlier than his usual wake-up time. Perhaps it was the lingering effects of jet lag, or perhaps it was simply the consequence of a restless night.

He placed the phone back down, lay still for another moment, and then pushed himself into a sitting position. A familiar routine followed: wash up, change clothes, run a hand through his hair to bring some order to the mess.

By the time he was finished, the clock had just ticked past 7:30. Lucian walked to the window and drew the heavy curtains aside.

Outside, London was slowly stirring to life in the gentle morning light. The number of pedestrians on the street was steadily growing—some rushing to work with briefcases in hand, some enjoying a morning run in athletic gear, and others leisurely walking their dogs. In the distance, the surface of the Thames shimmered, a faint gleam catching his eye as a cruise boat glided past.

He watched the city awaken for a while before turning and walking out of his room.

The elevator descended to the first floor in near silence. The hotel lobby was quiet, with only a lone staff member at the front desk diligently organizing documents.

Lucian headed toward the dining area, his stomach reminding him that he needed to eat. Just as he stepped into the restaurant, a familiar figure caught his eye.

Durandal.

She was seated at a table by the window, a cup of coffee steaming beside a half-eaten breakfast. The morning sun spilled through the glass, bathing her in a warm glow that turned her long, golden hair into a halo of light. Her expression was focused, her gaze fixed on the phone in her hands.

Lucian paused for a heartbeat before making his way over.

“Morning.”

He sat down in the chair opposite her.

Durandal looked up. Seeing him, a subtle, unreadable light flickered in the depths of her sapphire eyes. “Morning.”

She placed her phone down on the table, her gaze settling on his face. “Did you sleep well last night?”

“It was alright,” Lucian replied, nodding as he picked up the menu from the table. “And you?”

Durandal was silent for a second, then gave a slight, almost imperceptible nod. “It was alright.”

Her tone was as calm and even as ever, but Lucian could sense a certain complexity in her eyes that he couldn’t quite decipher. He glanced at her, sensing it wasn’t the time to press further.

He ordered his breakfast and leaned back in his chair, letting his gaze drift out the window. The restaurant was remarkably quiet, the silence punctuated only by the occasional, distant clink of cutlery on porcelain.

They finished their meal in that same quiet atmosphere.

Lucian set down his napkin and took the last sip of his coffee. Durandal had already finished eating and was now just sitting there, her gaze occasionally falling on him before drifting back toward the window.

“What are the plans for today?” Lucian asked, setting his cup down.

Durandal remained silent for a second. “Rita said she has something to discuss with you.”

Lucian was taken aback. “With me?”

“Mhm,” Durandal confirmed with a nod. “Regarding the follow-up investigation of that Honkai Beast from last night. She said she discovered some strange things.”

Lucian considered this for a moment, then nodded. “Okay.”

When the two of them walked out of the hotel, Rita was already waiting at the entrance. She was dressed in the same exquisite maid uniform as before. Seeing them approach, she offered a slight, graceful bow.

“Good morning, you two.”

Rita’s voice was as elegant and pleasant as ever, though Lucian noticed a hint of fatigue shadowing her eyes, a weariness that her professional smile couldn’t quite conceal.

His gaze lingered on her face for a fraction of a second longer than necessary. The battle last night had clearly been far more serious than the ‘minor trouble’ she had so casually brushed it off as.

“Miss Rita,” Lucian began, “what do you need me to do?”

Rita’s smile was gentle. She turned and gestured for them to follow. “Let’s talk on the way.”

The car handled the streets of London, heading in the opposite direction from their destination the previous day. Rita sat in the passenger seat, her eyes meeting Lucian’s in the rearview mirror as she addressed the two of them in the back.

“Regarding the Honkai Beast from last night,” she began, her voice calm but carrying a new note of solemnity, “we have already tracked down its source.”

“It’s in a factory in the East End of London.”

Lucian’s brow twitched. “A World Serpent stronghold?”

Rita nodded. “Most likely. But it should be deserted by now.” She paused, her gaze lingering on Lucian’s reflection for a moment. “However, we found some… unusual materials in a corner of the facility.”

“Unusual materials?” Durandal asked from beside him.

Rita was silent for a second, as if carefully choosing her words. “They are a collection of strange observation records.”

She met Lucian’s eyes again in the mirror. “To be precise, they are files pertaining to you, Mr. Lucian.”

Lucian froze. “Files… about me?”

“Yes,” Rita confirmed. “Among the documents we recovered, a significant portion details information about you.”

The car fell silent, the only sound the soft hum of the engine. Lucian’s brow furrowed.

“What kind of information?”

Rita didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she passed a tablet back from the front seat.

The screen displayed several photos, clearly scans of some kind of experimental log. The text was in German, dense and filled with technical jargon that Lucian couldn’t begin to understand.

But his own name, printed in stark black letters, was exceptionally prominent, leaping out at him from the sea of unfamiliar text.

Lucian stared at the screen, his finger slowly sliding across the smooth glass to scroll. The records spanned a very long time, and the content was disturbingly varied—from his daily movements to his interpersonal relationships, it was complete in a way that felt deeply invasive.

“They’ve been monitoring me?” Lucian’s voice was calm, but the light in his eyes had dimmed.

Rita nodded grimly. “It appears so.”

“And…” she hesitated, weighing her next words with extreme care, “judging by the level of detail in these records, their understanding of you might be far greater than we ever imagined.”

Lucian’s eyes were glued to the tablet, his mind racing as he remained silent. The records didn’t just contain his movements; they also included detailed analyses and speculations about his abilities.

His frown deepened. He continued scrolling.

The files documented his activities after arriving at St. Freya Academy, and even… records from his time at his old high school.

His first meeting with Kiana. His initial contact with Mei. The development of his relationship with Bronya.

Every single event was recorded with a chilling level of detail, so precise it sent a cold dread creeping through his veins.

“These records…” He looked up, his gaze finding Rita’s in the mirror. “When did they start?”

Rita was quiet for a second before she delivered the final blow.

“From the moment you enrolled in St. Freya Academy.”

“…”

Lucian’s brow furrowed so tightly it ached. The air in the car seemed to solidify, growing heavy and suffocating.

Starting from St. Freya.

In other words, from the very moment he had arrived in this world, World Serpent had been watching him.

‘No,’a darker thought whispered in his mind,’perhaps even earlier.’

Perhaps even before he had transmigrated, from some unseen corner of his life, someone had been recording his every move, documenting his very existence.

The feeling was utterly revolting. It was as if he had been unknowingly performing on a grand stage for a packed audience, all while believing he was completely alone.

“…Lucian?”

Durandal’s voice, laced with a rare hint of worry, cut through his spiraling thoughts.

Lucian snapped back to reality, turning to meet her concerned gaze.

“It’s nothing.” He handed the tablet back to Rita, a humorless smile touching his lips. “I just didn’t expect to be quite so popular.”
