Fairy Tail: My Magic is a Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck — Chapter 90

July 14, 2026 Calculating...

Chapter 90: Your Door Quality is Too Poor, Guild Master Jose

While Gray and Juvia remained locked in their bitter struggle, another battle raged deep within the spacious interior of the Magic Giant.

Scorching heat warped the air. Torrents of fire erupted upward, slamming into the stone ceiling and raining a constant shower of glowing debris down onto the floor below.

“So that’s how it is. You’re the Fire Dragon Slayer, Natsu, right? Should I call it bad luck that you ran into me, or just plain tragic?”

Totomaru of the Element 4 stood perched atop a shattered stone pillar, looking down at the pink-haired mage with a condescending smirk.

“Hey, you idiot! Didn’t you see me just eat all your flames?” Natsu raised a hand, pointing a challenging finger up at the pillar. “It doesn’t matter what kind of fire you use, it’s useless against me! Just come down here obediently and let me kick your ass!”

“Is that so? Then how about a taste of this?”

Totomaru smoothly pushed his hand forward, tracing a glowing magic circle in the air. A deep orange fireball materialized, radiating blistering waves of heat as it whistled straight toward the ground.

Natsu didn’t even hesitate. He threw his hands up to catch the incoming sphere of fire, unhinging his jaw to swallow it whole.

Just like any other fire, the orange flames were instantly absorbed into Natsu’s body, converting into pure, raw Magic Power.

Then, Natsu froze.

His facial features violently twisted together. His skin took on a distinct green hue. Dropping to his hands and knees, he clawed at his own throat and began retching violently against the stone floor.

“Bastard!” Natsu gagged, tears pricking the corners of his eyes. “What… what the hell did you put in that fire?!”

“Ahahaha! How does it taste?” Totomaru threw his head back, his sharp laughter echoing through the chamber. “A vintage blend of expired milk mixed with gutter water!”

The cunning Element 4 mage wiped a tear of mirth from his eye. As a fellow Dragon Slayer, Gajeel would occasionally curse up a storm whenever he accidentally swallowed a mouthful of heavily rusted scrap metal. Drawing inspiration from his guildmate’s misery, Totomaru had synthesized this malicious little trick on the spot.

It lacked lethal stopping power, but the psychological damage was devastating.

If nothing else, it was a highly educational experience for Natsu—he definitely wouldn’t be shoving random, unidentified flames into his mouth ever again.

“There’s actually fire that tastes like that?!” Natsu finally choked out, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. He pushed himself upright, his fists igniting with a raging, roaring blaze. “Are you even a real Fire Mage?!”

He bent his knees and launched himself off the floor, charging straight up the pillar toward Totomaru.

“You just said it yourself. No matter what kind of flame it is, it’s useless against you, right?” Totomaru watched the approaching Dragon Slayer without a hint of panic. A dark red magic circle flared to life in front of him. “Then… what if it’s your own?”

Totomaru gently twitched his index finger.

The roaring flames wrapped around Natsu’s right arm suddenly jerked upward, completely overriding the boy’s own muscle control. The hijacked momentum drove Natsu’s flaming fist directly into his own jaw.

A heavy, muffled crack rang out. Caught entirely off guard by his own attack, Natsu spun through the air and crashed hard into the rubble below.

“That is exactly why I said it’s bad luck for you to meet me.” Totomaru casually slipped his hands into his pockets, his posture practically dripping with arrogance. “Because I can control all flames!”

Elsewhere, on a wide, arched corridor within the castle’s infrastructure, Elfman sprinted at full speed. His eyes darted across the mechanical walls, searching for anything resembling the Magic Giant’s energy core.

He knew exactly what was riding on this operation.

“Since this is Mira’s will, I definitely can’t lose to Natsu and the others! No matter what, I have to smash that target before they do!” Elfman pumped his arms, his heavy footsteps echoing down the hall. “This is my first joint operation with Mira since she got her Magic Power back! I have to be a real man!!”

Just as Elfman bellowed his battle cry, the ceiling ahead of him groaned.

The passage suffered a violent, localized collapse. Chunks of masonry slammed into the floor, kicking up a thick, choking cloud of dust.

Through the haze of pulverized stone, a silhouette slowly straightened its posture.

Gajeel stepped out from the settling dust. He spat out a mouthful of grit, his crimson eyes locking onto the large Fairy Tail mage. The corner of his mouth immediately curled into a vicious, predatory sneer. “Hehe. I finally found you, Fairy Tail.”

“You are—” Elfman skidded to a halt, his boots carving grooves into the floor.

When Jose had appeared earlier with the Element 4 to deliver his threats, Gajeel had been off hiding in a corner, quietly gnawing on a pile of iron bars. Elfman hadn’t gotten a good look at him.

But feeling the sheer, suffocating weight of the Magic Power rolling off this guy, Elfman knew instantly that this was no small fry.

“Listen up and remember it well,” Gajeel announced, puffing out his chest and spreading his arms wide. “This great me is Phantom Lord’s absolute ace! The Iron Dragon Slayer, Gajeel!”

“Iron Dragon Slayer?”

Elfman blinked. The deep furrow in his brow vanished, replaced by a look of sudden, dawning comprehension. He smacked his fist into his open palm. “Oh! I’ve heard of you.”

Gajeel smirked, waiting for the fear to set in.

“You’re that guy Chase and Natsu stripped naked and hung from the clock tower, right?!”

Gajeel froze.

A violent, ghostly cyan aura exploded from his body, the sheer pressure causing the surrounding walls to tremble and crack.

“You dead bastard!” Gajeel roared, his teeth grinding together loud enough to spark. “This great me is going to tear you to bloody pieces!!”

Completely unhinged by the memory, Gajeel stomped forward, his heavy iron boots shattering the floor tiles beneath him.

Facing down the terrifying, murderous intent of a Dragon Slayer, Elfman didn’t flinch. He took a deep, steadying breath and stepped forward to meet the charge.

Black electric arcs violently sparked around his massive frame. A dark purple magic circle materialized above his head, projecting the overwhelming, savage majesty of the King of Beasts.

“Hey, the graffiti they drew on your butt should be washed off by now, right?” Elfman grinned, his muscles expanding and shifting under the dark light. He casually waved a hand at the charging metal-head. “If not, I can help you scrub it off for free.”

Gajeel’s eyes rolled back in pure, berserk fury. Without another word, his arm transformed into a massive, jagged Iron Dragon Sword, swinging down with lethal force.

The two heavyweights collided in the center of the corridor. The resulting shockwave instantly blew out the remaining walls, reducing the surrounding architecture to powder.

Down on the war-torn shoreline.

Chase stood amidst the cratered earth, having just finished applying the last of his attribute buffs. A glowing magical chain linked the Dark Magician Girl to the Spell Card floating beside her—Sage’s Stone.

The stone shattered into motes of brilliant light, tearing open a dimensional rift to Special Summon the ultimate wizard in terms of attack and defense.

The Dark Magician materialized, his purple armor gleaming in the coastal sunlight, his emerald staff humming with ancient power. The final preparations were complete.

“Yay! I can finally go beat up that creepy Jose guy!” Dark Magician Girl cheered, excitedly pumping her pink magic staff into the air. Ever since she had witnessed the aftermath of Phantom Lord’s cowardly attack on the guild the night before, she had been eagerly counting down the seconds to this exact moment.

“Do not be careless. The enemy is one of the Ten Wizard Saints, a mage on par with Makarov,” the Dark Magician warned. He crossed his arms over his chest, his deep, analytical gaze fixed on the distant, looming head of the Magic Giant.

“Yes, Master!” Dark Magician Girl immediately snapped to attention, her posture suddenly stiffer and more perfectly aligned than a royal guardsman’s.

“Let’s go. It’s rude to keep our enemy waiting too long,” Chase said, stretching his neck until it popped.

The moment the words left his mouth, dark golden Magic Power flared around his body. He launched himself off the ground, transforming into a streak of gilded light that shot straight toward the Magic Giant’s head. Flight magic was just one of the many practical tricks he had picked up from his two magical companions.

The Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl exchanged a quick glance. Their bodies ignited in halos of dark purple and bright pink respectively, and they took to the sky, following closely in Chase’s slipstream.

They reached the command room situated at the very top of the Magic Giant’s head in seconds.

The squad of Phantom Lord mooks stationed outside the entrance didn’t even have time to shout before a wave of magical force wiped them out.

The massive, heavy iron doors of the command room violently exploded inward. A shockwave of compressed air and jagged shrapnel tore through the previously pristine chamber, shredding the carpets and shattering the glass fixtures.

Through the settling dust, Chase stepped into the room, his boots crunching over the ruined door.

Sitting cross-legged on a raised dais at the back of the room, Jose Porla didn’t even flinch. He casually propped his cheek against his knuckles, tilting his head to look down at the three intruders with dead, indifferent eyes.

“You don’t even know the most basic etiquette of knocking,” Jose drawled, his voice dripping with aristocratic disdain. “Did Makarov never teach you what politeness is, brat?”

“Sorry about that. I actually did knock.”

Chase stopped about ten meters away from the dais, a relaxed, easy smile resting on his face. “But the quality of your door is just too poor, Guild Master Jose.”
