Fairy Tail: My Magic is a Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck — Chapter 30

July 14, 2026 Calculating...

Chapter 30: Rampage! Demon Mirajane!

“Unlucky?” Marshall spread his arms wide, a harsh scoff tearing from his throat. “It seems you, as a Card Mage, haven’t realized the seriousness of the problem!”

Through the Swords of Revealing Light and the Spellbinding Circle just moments ago, he had confirmed Chase’s identity. The realization made his confidence swell to absolute extremes. The Yakuma Eighteen War Gods Sky Drum controlled spatial magic, making it the absolute nemesis of spatial Mages—especially those reliant on Celestial Spirits or cards.

“Nier… Ila… Dor Wergu…”

“Radoka… Sprudo Kray!”

Sky Drum chanted an ancient, guttural spell. A distorted, chaotic green light shot up into the sky, cascading outward to form a massive dome that enveloped the entire island. Inside this domain, any spatial magic would be sealed away, rendered entirely useless.

This was the fundamental difference between Marshall, who possessed the true body of Sky Drum, and the fake Cluny. He could wield ancient forbidden magic that had never seen the light of day in this era.

“The space here has been dominated by me, my dear Chase. Do you want to try and see if your broken cards can still be used?” Marshall lowered his massive head, looking down at the Mage on the beach with a face twisted in mockery.

Space was dominated?

Chase furrowed his brow, letting his consciousness sink deep into his deck. Both the Monster cards and his Spell and Trap cards floated calmly within his mind. The familiar hum of Magic Power remained completely unaffected. He could still sense the vibrant pulse of his deck, ready to be summoned at a moment’s notice.

‘That’s right, my magic is Duelist’s Soul. What does your restriction on Card Mages’ space have to do with me?’

The bond between a Duelist and their deck could never be severed so easily.

Despite knowing this, Chase did not immediately draw a card. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of Mira. Her hands were clasped tightly together, her knuckles white, her face pale with mounting dread.

A thought crossed his mind. Maybe this was the perfect opportunity.

Making his decision, Chase took a deep breath. He reached out with practiced flair, drawing a card to attempt a summon. Then, he let his expression twist into a mask of sheer panic.

“Damn it, I really can’t use them!”

Hearing those words, the unease radiating from Mira spiked into outright terror.

Marshall threw his head back, his harsh laughter booming like thunder across the beach.

“I never thought the mighty Fairy Tail S-Class Mage would show such a pleasing expression, hahaha!” Marshall sneered, his eyes gleaming with ferocious intent. “Since you’ve successfully made me laugh, Chase, after I capture you, I will leave you with just one breath to linger. You will personally witness how everything you cherish is reduced to ashes under the fist of the Yakuma!”

Wasting no more time on words, Marshall bent his massive legs. He launched himself forward with a powerful leap, crossing over a hundred meters in a single bound. His enormous foot came crashing down heavily on the exact spot where Chase stood.

Sand and shattered stone erupted into the air. The ground violently rumbled under the impact.

Deep within the billowing dust cloud, Chase moved with blinding speed, holding Mira securely against his chest as he handled the falling debris. He did not try to counterattack right away. Once they reached a relatively safe outcrop of rocks, he gently set her down.

“Mira, stand here and don’t move.”

Chase clenched his fists, rolling his shoulders before flashing her a bright, confident smile. “Don’t worry. Even if I can’t use cards, I still have a pair of fists strong enough to shatter the darkness!”

Mira opened her mouth to speak, but he had already turned away, leaving her staring at his determined back.

“Hey! Marshall! Let me teach you a good lesson…”

In the span of a few breaths, Chase vanished from his spot and reappeared directly in front of Marshall’s giant Yakuma face. The sheer velocity completely overturned Marshall’s conventional understanding of a backline Card Mage. The giant stood there in a daze, his brain failing to process the sudden proximity.

“Fists are also a deadly weapon for Card Mages!!!”

By the time Marshall finally snapped out of his stupor and raised an arm to counterattack, Chase’s fist—heavy as a falling comet and surging with raw power—crashed directly into his cheek.

The simple, unadorned punch generated a localized hurricane. The impact snapped Marshall’s massive head sideways, lifting his colossal body off the ground and sending him flying backward. He crashed heavily into a deep basin in the center of the island, sending shockwaves through the earth.

Almost instantly, the enormous body scrambled up, shaking off the dust. A massive shadow fell over Chase, who was still suspended in mid-air. After possessing the Yakuma body, Marshall’s speed had drastically increased, shedding the clumsy slowness he displayed when fighting Dark Magician Girl.

Boom!

Chase twisted his body, using the recoil from a powerful punch at the empty air to propel himself sideways, narrowly avoiding Marshall’s fatal, crushing stomp.

Marshall immediately pivoted. Twisting his colossal frame into a full three-hundred-and-sixty-degree rotation, he delivered a devastating flying back kick straight toward the airborne Mage.

Chase crossed his arms to block in the split second before impact. The foot, massive as a warship, slammed into his guard. The sheer kinetic force launched him backward like a cannonball, his body smashing through several rocky hills along the way.

Marshall refused to give him a single second to breathe. Magic Power gathered in his giant palms. Countless chaotic green light pillars rained down from the sky, blasting the exact spot where Chase had landed.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Deafening explosions echoed across the island, tearing the landscape apart.

Chase weaved through the chaotic bombardment with agile, precise footwork. As he continuously closed the distance between himself and the giant, Magic Power surged frantically around his right fist, glowing with intense heat.

Marshall instantly saw through the approach. He pulled his massive arm back to his waist, gathering a terrifying amount of energy into his own fist.

As Chase leaped high above the smoke and explosions, the two fists—vastly different in size—collided violently in the air. A terrifying shockwave erupted from the point of impact, sweeping away the clouds and flattening the surrounding trees.

A human body ultimately could not withstand the monstrous, raw physical strength of a Yakuma Fighting God.

Chase, completely withholding his card abilities, was hammered backward on the spot. A chaotic spatial vortex tore open behind him as he flew through the air, sucking him directly into its gravitational pull.

“Heh heh, I finally know the real reason why Cluny failed…”

Marshall wore a gloomy, triumphant expression as he slowly walked toward the vortex where Chase was now trapped and unable to move. “As a Card Mage, you actually have this kind of close-combat ability. You truly are a monster!”

He briefly analyzed the clash. If he had not awakened Sky Drum in advance and relied solely on his original human strength, it would have been entirely impossible to stand against Chase.

However, hypotheticals meant nothing now. The reality was that Chase had become a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

The more Marshall thought about his victory, the more excited he became. A twisted, sadistic smile stretched across his face. He extended his giant arm, plunging his hand into the vortex, and squeezed Chase tightly in his palm.

“Tell me, how should I torture you?”

Marshall applied just a fraction of his grip strength. The sickening sound of bones straining echoed out as Chase let loose a series of agonizing roars.

“No, don’t…”

Watching the scene unfold from a distance, Mira’s pupils instantly lost their focus. Her delicate body trembled violently. Her chest heaved as an unbearable agonizing weight crushed her heart.

Unlike his summoned monsters, if Chase died here, it would be a complete and utter demise. Just like her sister Lisanna, all traces of his warmth in this world would be erased forever. That included all her card monster companions, like Dark Magician Girl, whom she had long since accepted as her own family.

As her conscious mind approached the absolute brink of collapse, the terrifying Magic Power deeply buried and sealed within her body began to violently stir. Wisps of dark, thick purple smoke drifted out from her skin, curling into the air.

“Oh?”

Marshall sensed the sudden spike of suppressed, violent energy. He turned his massive head to look at Mira, who was desperately clutching her head with both hands, her fingernails digging into her scalp. “I almost forgot. There’s also you, a rather good source of Magic Power.”

Believing absolute victory was already in his grasp, a cruel thought bloomed in his mind. Still holding the struggling Chase in his fist, Marshall took heavy, thudding steps toward the girl.

He wanted Chase to witness with his own eyes how the woman he loved died tragically right in front of him.

The vast shadow of the Yakuma completely engulfed the trembling girl. Mira stood rooted to the spot, unresponsive to the approaching threat.

“Mira, quick, run…”

Chase coughed up a large mouthful of blood, the crimson liquid spilling down his chin. He forced out a weak, agonizing smile, playing the part of a man on the absolute verge of death.

“Damn it, I really wish… I could have one more cup… of the coffee… you made… with sugar…”

Those final, dying words completely snapped the last taut nerve holding Mira’s sanity together.

“Ah ah ah ah ah ah!!!!”

Mira threw her head back and unleashed a deafening, sky-tearing shriek. Her long white hair whipped wildly in the center of a surging Magic Power storm. Shattered rocks and debris floated into the air around her, defying gravity.

It was as if a heavy iron vault that had been sealed for years had finally been blown wide open. Black lightning violently arced across the ground. A massive, dark purple magic circle materialized in the sky directly above her head.

Immediately following the surge, Mira’s clothes began to dissolve into the energy, rapidly replaced by the manifestation of a dark, obsidian Satan’s armor. Thick black lines crept across her pale cheeks. A heavy, powerful demonic tail lashed out behind her, and pitch-black, razor-sharp demon wings tore free from her back.

By the time the agonizing screams finally subsided, the figure standing before Marshall was no longer the sweet, gentle barmaid. It was the only other S-Class female Mage of Fairy Tail.

Demon Mirajane.

The suffocating pressure of her Magic Power made Marshall instinctively recoil. A foul sense of dread crept up his spine. The sweet girl was gone, replaced by a terrifying entity with a freezing, dead-eyed glare that looked at him as if he were nothing more than rotting garbage.

Deciding to eliminate the variables immediately, Marshall clenched his giant fist, intending to crush the life out of Chase right then and there.

However, the expected sickening crunch and splatter of blood did not happen. His hand closed around empty air.

“Disappeared? No! That’s not right!”

Marshall gasped in shock, his eyes darting around frantically. He suddenly looked up, only to see the white-haired demon who had just been standing near his feet. She was now perched on a jagged reef by the sea, over a hundred meters away.

Cradled gently in her armored arms was Chase—the man who should have been firmly crushed in his grip just a millisecond ago.

“This speed… How is that possible?!!”
