Fairy Tail: My Magic is a Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck — Chapter 117

July 14, 2026 Calculating...

Chapter 117: Now, I Am Above You!

The man stood tall, his posture straight and his muscles coiled with explosive tension. The Fairy Tail emblem sat proudly on his chest and right arm, completely unobstructed.

In almost every physical detail, the shadows of Natsu and Gray bled together.

His most striking feature was his hair—a sharp, choppy gradient that started pitch-black at the roots and faded into a vibrant cherry-blossom pink at the tips. A single strand fell across his forehead, swaying gently in the breeze alongside the dragon scale necklace resting against his collarbone. He radiated an undeniably intense, almost intimidating aura.

“Hey, hey, what exactly is this…”

“He looks like both Natsu and Gray. Did those two really merge?”

“Both hot and cold… it really feels like the aura of those two being together.”

Laki tilted her head, chiming in out of nowhere. “Speaking of which, doesn’t he give off a totally cute, pink-summer-romance vibe?~”

The entire guild deadpanned. “What the heck is a pink-summer-romance vibe?!”

“Aye~! I already saw it yesterday.”

Happy took to the air, naturally assuming the role of the commentator. “This is a new card Chase got! It can merge two people into one. Their Magic Power is way stronger than a single person, and they can use all the Magic both people possess at the exact same time!”

He crossed his tiny paws, shaking his head. “By the way, even a fusion of the mighty me and Natsu was completely useless, so don’t get your hopes up too high for him.”

Fusion Magic?

The guild members stared in stunned silence, constantly sizing up the strange man before them who felt simultaneously entirely unfamiliar and far too familiar.

“Ara ara, as expected of Chase. Things seem to be getting very interesting.”

Mira, always the well-informed one, remained perfectly serene. She smiled, pressing her hands together. To some extent, her own Take Over Magic could be considered a different breed of fusion. The user’s personality was always affected by the entity they took over. When she equipped her Satan Soul, her demeanor grew vastly wilder than her normal, gentle state. And when it came to Demons like Sitri or the god Halphas, a single slip in concentration could result in terrifying, widespread destruction.

“Happy and Natsu are already like that… I can’t even imagine the resulting personality after a monster and a pervert merge.” Lucy hid behind Mira, poking her head out just enough to grumble. “That would definitely be super awful!”

Meanwhile, in an inconspicuous, heavily shadowed corner of the guildhall.

Juvia, having finally snapped out of her drowning-in-love stupor, crouched behind a table. Her eyes were wide, locked onto the Fusion card in Chase’s hand with a feverish, unblinking intensity. A faint, breathy giggle escaped her lips as her imagination undoubtedly spiraled into highly inappropriate, Chase-centric scenarios.

“Hey! The one striking a pose over there, who are you now?” Macao shouted from the crowd, pointing at the fused Natsu and Gray.

“Hehe. I’m neither Natsu nor Gray.” The man smirked, puffing out his chest. When he spoke, his voice carried a heavy, dual-layered echo. “I am the current strongest Mage of Fairy Tail! Ice Flame Dragon, Nagrez!”

Having finally waited for someone to ask, Nagrez struck a highly pretentious pose.

The guild groaned in unison. “So arrogant! I really want to beat him up!!”

Mira simply smiled. “Nagrez, clothes.”

Nagrez blinked, looking down. His eyes widened. Only a single pair of briefs remained on his body.

“Nani?! When?!” he shrieked, his jaw dropping.

Mira was still Mira. With just three incredibly short words, she had effectively shattered this guy’s newly established cool factor, sending it plummeting straight to rock bottom.

“The stripping habit was perfectly inherited!” Lucy yelled over the noise.

“Alright, whatever! Trivial things like this don’t matter.”

Nagrez adapted to the sudden nakedness with terrifying speed. He raised a hand, pointing a finger directly at Chase across the courtyard, and threw his head back in a booming laugh. “Ah hahaha! Regret your foolish actions, Chase! Now, I am above you!”

Battle intent surged in the depths of Nagrez’s sharp eyes. He bent his knees, gathering explosive kinetic force, and stomped. The ground beneath him shattered into a spiderweb of cracks as he launched himself straight toward Chase at blistering speed.

His tightly clenched right fist ignited with a roaring blaze.

“Here it comes! Following Gray’s stripping habit, next is Natsu’s recklessness!” Lucy complained, not surprised in the slightest.

Chase took a slow breath. A dark golden aura of Magic Power erupted around him, heavy and oppressive.

He stood his ground, waiting until the very last millisecond before pivoting sideways. The fiery punch sailed past his face, missing by an inch. In the same fluid motion, Chase raised his hand, his fingers clamping down like a vice around Nagrez’s extended arm.

“Don’t be in such a hurry. Since it’s a formal challenge, we need to…”

Chase planted his feet and torqued his hips. He spun Nagrez a full 360 degrees in the air, the sheer centrifugal force blurring the fused mage’s features, before launching him like a cannonball toward the inland lake behind the guild.

“…change to a stage where we can fully unleash our power!”

Whoosh!

A brilliant pink stream of light shot out from Chase’s deck. It chased after Nagrez’s flying form, effortlessly overtaking him in mid-air.

“Nice to meet you! Hello there, Nagrez!”

Dark Magician Girl materialized in the sky, flashing a bright, bubbly smile. Without a second of hesitation, she raised her pink staff high above her head. “Super Magic Wave!”

Nagrez’s parabolic trajectory was violently interrupted. The heavy, blunt impact of the staff against his skull sent him plummeting straight down.

Splash!

The calm surface of the lake shattered like a giant mirror, exploding upward into a towering column of water. Pulled by gravity, the column quickly broke apart, raining back down onto the lake in a heavy, scattered downpour.

“Yay! A super perfect home run!” Dark Magician Girl floated in mid-air, playfully flashing a peace sign toward the shore.

The older guild members, specifically Macao and Wakaba, were instantly mesmerized. They leaned over the railing, their eyes practically turning into giant red hearts as they swooned over how cute she was.

A sudden, biting chill swept across the shore.

Centered entirely around Nagrez’s point of impact, thick white ice spread outward at a visible, terrifying speed. Within seconds, the entire lake froze solid, locking the rippling water into a jagged, frozen wasteland.

“That hurt, you bastard!”

Nagrez slowly walked out from the depths of the freezing mist. He rubbed the large, comical bump forming on the top of his head, but his physical condition didn’t seem to have deteriorated in the slightest.

Standing on the shore, Chase narrowed his eyes.

Although she hadn’t used her full strength, the kinetic force behind Dark Magician Girl’s strike was far from weak. Under normal circumstances, neither Natsu nor Gray could have taken that blow completely unharmed. Natsu, who notoriously performed terribly in internal guild brawls, might have even been knocked out cold on the spot.

But Nagrez’s durability was clearly on an entirely different level.

Standing on the frozen lake, Nagrez shook his head to clear the dizziness. He planted his feet wide and overlapped his palms at his waist.

It was the signature starting stance for Gray’s Magic.

“Molding Magic, Ice-Make: Geyser!”

A massive, light-blue magic circle flared to life beneath his feet. Nagrez slammed his palms into the frozen ice. A colossal, jagged ice pillar erupted from the surface, shooting skyward like a spear, aiming directly for Dark Magician Girl as she posed in mid-air.

A freezing gale swept past. Caught off guard, Dark Magician Girl was instantly encased in a thick block of solid ice.

Crack… crack.

The victory lasted less than two seconds. Deep fissures spiderwebbed across the surface of the ice sculpture. Deep within the frozen block, a pink light flared, growing brighter and more intense until the entire pillar violently detonated at the waist.

Crystalline shards of ice rained down from the sky.

“Idiot, that was Gray’s move, right? I was seriously on guard, you know!” Dark Magician Girl swung her staff, puffing out her chest proudly. The exact millisecond the geyser hit her, she had deployed a defensive Magic barrier.

“Hehe.” Nagrez flashed a feral grin.

The scattered ice shards drifting through the air suddenly flared with blinding crimson fire, glowing like miniature hand grenades with their pins pulled.

“Then how about this move?”

Nagrez clenched his right fist, the heat radiating off his skin warping the air itself. “Ice Flame Dragon’s Frostfire Bombs!”

Boom! Boom! Boom!!!

The suspended ice shards, packed to their absolute limit with volatile fire energy, detonated simultaneously. A chain of thrilling, deafening explosions ripped through the sky, shaking the very foundations of the guildhall. Blazing flames and thick, choking smoke merged into a chaotic storm, swallowing up more than half the sky in the blink of an eye.
