Classroom of the Elite: Surviving with the Intel System — Chapter 88

Chapter 88: Twenty Million Points to Transfer Classes

A sudden vibration broke the morning quiet. Chabashira Sae had dropped a brief, uncompromising message into the class group chat: a mandatory gathering in the classroom at 8:30 AM.

This was only the second time their homeroom teacher had called for a morning meeting. The first had been on the very day of the entrance ceremony. She was undoubtedly preparing to drop a bombshell.

Shimizu Akira pocketed his phone, pulled on his uniform, and quickly finished his breakfast before making his way to the Class 1-D room.

The moment he pushed open the sliding door, a suffocating atmosphere washed over him. Today was payday. The room should have been buzzing with the thrill of newly deposited Private Points. Instead, a heavy cloud of confusion and unease hung over the nearly full classroom.

“Did your points come in?”

“Yeah, but only eight thousand! That loan agreement we signed last month bled us dry…”

“The math doesn’t add up. Our Class Points should be sitting above eight hundred. Even after the forty-five thousand deduction for the surveillance equipment rental, we should have at least thirty thousand left over!”

Horikita Suzune stepped up beside his desk, her shoulder bag still strapped tightly across her chest. Her brows were knit in a sharp frown. “Only 530 Class Points. We haven’t even scraped the passing line. It seems the administration penalized us heavily for behavioral violations outside the classroom area as well.”

Before Akira could entertain her analysis, a familiar, mechanical voice chimed in the depths of his mind.

`[Ding… Today’s intelligence has been updated.]`

`[1. 20 million Private Points can be used to transfer classes, or to invalidate any student’s expulsion once.]`

`[2. Sakagami Kazuma of Class 1-C actively condones Ryuuen Kakeru’s violent behavior within the class.]`

`[3. Hasebe Haruka possesses the most outstanding figure among the girls in Class 1-D.]`

Twenty million Private Points to jump ship?

Akira blinked. The revelation hit like a sledgehammer, slotting perfectly into the theories he had been quietly building over the past few days. The School Administration’s opening pitch had been entirely literal: With points, anything can be bought.

He had already tested those boundaries. After he rented the surveillance equipment through the Student Council President last month, the administration had hastily patched the loopholes, releasing a list of “non-sellable items.” Surveillance systems, classroom seats, class ownership—these key foundational resources were all suddenly locked behind a strict transaction ban.

The School Administration was likely terrified of the precedent. What if a student simply rented out an entire classroom next? To prevent a complete collapse of their infrastructure, they brought down the hammer.

Akira didn’t particularly mind. He had already made his fortune off the surveillance network; there was no need to keep milking the school’s hardware. That avenue was closed, but it had served its purpose.

Still, twenty million is a steep price tag. My entire operation only got me halfway there.

He considered his opening moves to be near flawless. He had bought a crucial piece of intel from a second-year, flipped it to Class D for a cool million, and then used that capital to monopolize the surveillance system. Extorting three million from four different classes had yielded a net profit of just over ten million Private Points after taxes.

It was a massive sum, but still miles away from this newly revealed ceiling. He highly doubted anyone else in his year could replicate that kind of aggressive market manipulation.

Yet, it was the second half of the first intelligence drop that truly caught his attention.

It can cancel an expulsion? That’s a literal get-out-of-death-free card.

Akira wasn’t just another high schooler; he was a transmigrator bound by a singular, absolute system directive: successfully graduate from Advanced Nurturing High School.

If he were accidentally expelled, his entire foundation would crumble. Whether failure meant being violently shunted to another world or facing a far darker penalty remained an unknown he had no desire to test.

Besides, he found the cutthroat environment of this academy genuinely entertaining. His classmates were interesting, and the psychological warfare kept his mind sharp. Whether it was to secure his mission, build an impenetrable safety net, or simply hoard wealth, accumulating twenty million Private Points had just become his primary short-term objective.

As for the prospect of actually transferring classes?

Akira was perfectly content using Class D as his base of operations for now. The monthly point payouts were abysmal, but he didn’t rely on the school’s allowance anyway. The only real drawbacks were Chabashira Sae’s manipulative tendencies and the relentless discrimination that came with the “defective” label of Class D.

He needed a contingency plan. If Chabashira ever found use over him, or if his protection expired once the Student Council President graduated, he would need an exit strategy.

If he were forced to jump ship, where would he go?

Ultimately, a diploma was a diploma.

Class C was ruled by Ryuuen Kakeru. If Akira transferred there, his solution would be brutally simple: beat the dictator into the dirt until he submitted. Men like Ryuuen only respected overwhelming physical force; a few broken bones would establish the pecking order immediately.

Class A was a different beast. Sakayanagi Arisu controlled it, and Akira had zero interest in exhausting his mental bandwidth playing chess with her. Given her frail health, pushing her too far in a battle of wits might trigger a heart attack and send her to the hospital. That would inevitably draw the wrath of her father, the Chairman. Physical force was off the table, making the entire class a massive headache.

Class B, then, was the most comfortable sanctuary.

Given Ichinose Honami’s bleeding-heart nature, she would likely bankrupt herself to protect every single person under her care. If a classmate faced the chopping block, she was exactly the type to desperately scrape together twenty million points to save them.

Yeah, Class B is the safest bet. I trust Ichinose Honami’s predictable goodness.

Akira’s focus shifted to the second piece of intel.

Sakagami Kazuma, a fully credentialed educator, was actively turning a blind eye to a tyrant brutalizing his own students. Were there any sane adults in this facility? Chabashira Sae was a scheming opportunist, and the homeroom teacher for Class B was a chaotic mess who regularly stumbled into morning homeroom reeking of cheap alcohol.

By process of elimination, the Class A instructor was the only normal teacher in the building.

As for the third piece of information—

That was practically an open secret among the boys of Class 1-D.

He hadn’t interacted much with Hasebe Haruka. She was fiercely guarded, hyper-aware of the male gaze, and outright refused to wear a swimsuit during their aquatic classes. But she wasn’t socially inept; she simply chose her company carefully.

During their brief conversations, she had shown a quiet, lingering interest, her eyes frequently dropping to the defined musculature of his arms. She simply had high standards—a trait he could easily respect. Given her striking features and undeniably outstanding figure, being selective was her prerogative.
