Classroom of the Elite: Standing Firm in Class A — Chapter 8
Chapter 8: The Architect of Ruin
“Holy shit…” Ike Kanji swallowed hard, his jaw practically hitting the table. “She actually did something like that? That’s insane!”
Beside him, Sudo Ken crossed his thick arms and scoffed, his face twisting in obvious disdain for the whole situation. He clearly had no respect for such underhanded behavior.
However, the most intense reaction came from Yamauchi Haruki.
He leaned forward, his breathing ragged and heavy. A feverish flush crept up his neck, painting his cheeks red with excessive excitement. He didn’t see a crime on that screen; he saw a golden ticket. A beautiful girl, her darkest secret resting right in the palm of his hand.
To him, it meant absolute control. He could make her obey his every whim. He could force her to be his girlfriend, parading her around the school to soak in the envy of every other guy in their class.
“This… this video…” Yamauchi stammered, his eyes practically glued to the device. He looked up at Kaedehara Tetsu, his gaze dripping with greedy desire. “You’re really going to give it to me?”
“Give it to you?”
Tetsu pulled his phone back. The screen clicked black, instantly cutting off the illicit footage. He picked up his iced Americano, taking a slow, deliberate sip. The bitter espresso washed over his tongue. He let the silence stretch, completely unbothered by the trio’s mounting anxiety.
“There is no such thing as a free lunch in this world. You three should understand that by now, shouldn’t you?”
His cold, measured words were like a bucket of ice water dumped directly over Yamauchi’s fiery delusions.
“What do you want?” Yamauchi asked, his voice tight.
“It’s simple.” Tetsu set the plastic cup down on the table. He raised two fingers. “Fifty thousand Personal Points. Transfer the sum to my account, and the exclusive rights to this little clip are all yours.”
“Fifty thousand?! Are you out of your mind?!” Ike yelped.
It was only the second day of the semester. While a hundred thousand points had seemed like an infinite fortune yesterday, these three had already blown through a massive chunk of their stipends on video games, junk food, and frivolous luxuries. Coughing up fifty grand in one go was like carving flesh straight from their bones.
“You three can simply pool your funds,” Tetsu suggested, his tone smooth and helpful. “Besides, the academy deposits a hundred thousand into your accounts every single month. Fifty thousand between three people is pocket change.”
They hesitated, exchanging uncertain glances. Tetsu let out a soft, amused exhale. He pushed his chair back and stood up, smoothing out his uniform jacket.
“Well, if that’s how it is, I won’t force you. It seems you aren’t quite as interested in this golden opportunity as I thought.”
“Wait! Hold on!” Yamauchi scrambled to his feet, desperately grabbing Tetsu’s sleeve. “Fifty thousand! We’ll pay it! Just give me a second!”
He whipped around to face his classmates. “Ken! Kanji! Transfer your points to me right now! I swear I’ll pay you both back on the first of next month!”
Sudo clicked his tongue, glaring away, while Ike grumbled under his breath. But driven by Yamauchi’s frantic, pathetic pleading, the two reluctantly pulled out their student IDs.
Yamauchi’s hands shook as he handled the school’s digital interface. He pooled their remaining funds, gritted his teeth, and wired exactly fifty thousand Personal Points to the anonymous routing number Tetsu had provided.
Ding.
A crisp notification chimed from Tetsu’s device.
Tetsu glanced at the screen, a faint, satisfied smile touching his lips. With a few swift taps, he forwarded the video file—a file he had already carefully, purposefully edited—straight to Yamauchi’s phone.
“It’s all yours,” Tetsu said softly. “I trust a man of your intelligence, Yamauchi, knows exactly how to handle this. Just remember to take your time.”
He deliberately stressed those last three words. He knew exactly how Yamauchi’s pathetic mind operated. The boy wouldn’t take his time. He would rush in, blinded by lust and ego, making absurd, heavy-handed demands. It was the perfect spark to ignite Kamuro Masumi’s volatile temper.
A girl as fiercely proud as Kamuro would rather die than submit to the vulgar threats of a bottom-feeder like Yamauchi. Her inevitable, biting rejection would shatter Yamauchi’s fragile vanity, driving him into a cornered rage. And a cornered idiot always lashed out. He would take the video straight to the faculty.
“I… I got it!” Yamauchi clutched his phone to his chest like a holy relic.
Beside him, Ike rubbed his hands together, elbowing Yamauchi in the ribs with a sleazy, conspiratorial giggle. Only Sudo remained silent, his thick brows furrowed. His instincts told him something about this transaction was deeply wrong, but he lacked the intellect to piece it together. Besides, he had zero interest in using underhanded tricks to score a girl. He merely let out a harsh snort and looked out the window.
“The merchandise is yours. How you choose to play your hand is entirely up to you.” Tetsu gave Yamauchi a light, patronizing pat on the shoulder.
He straightened up, picked up his half-empty Americano, and turned his back on the Class D trio, strolling out of the cafe without another word.
The first phase of the operation had executed flawlessly.
As Tetsu walked back toward the main academic building, the afternoon sun cast long shadows across the pristine campus. He took another sip of his coffee, his mind already mapping out the days to come. He felt entirely relaxed.
Yamauchi had the bait. With his brain clouded by vanity and adolescent urges, he was guaranteed to strike.
But when? Tetsu calculated the variables.
Not today. The idiot had just acquired his supposed trump card. He needed time for the adrenaline to settle, time to lay in bed tonight and let his delusions of grandeur ferment. He would spend the entire evening scripting his own heroic entrance.
Tomorrow, then. Likely during the lunch break or immediately after classes. Yamauchi would corner Kamuro in a spot that felt private, yet possessed just enough foot traffic for someone to accidentally witness his dominance. His ego demanded an audience. He wanted the world to see him conquer an elite Class A girl.
The script was utterly predictable. Yamauchi would block Kamuro’s path, opening with some greasy, painfully awkward pickup line. When Kamuro inevitably froze him out with her trademark icy glare, his bruised ego would flare. He would whip out the video, slamming his trump card on the table. He would demand a date. He would demand she become his girlfriend.
And Kamuro’s reaction? Submission?
Not a chance.
She might have a fetish for petty theft, but at her core, she was a creature of immense pride. The mere thought of bowing to a pathetic, leering insect like Yamauchi would make her skin crawl. She would tear him apart. She would unleash a torrent of verbal abuse, grinding his fragile self-esteem into fine dust beneath her heel. She might even counter-attack, daring him to release it, threatening to report him for extortion.
Once Kamuro mercilessly crushed his delusions, Yamauchi would snap. Realizing he couldn’t win the girl through intimidation, his lust would curdle into vindictive spite. He would sprint straight to the faculty office. He would seek out Chabashira Sae, Class D’s homeroom instructor, or perhaps aim even higher up the administrative ladder.
He would slam the video onto a desk, presenting it as obvious evidence. He would accuse Class A’s Kamuro Masumi of blatant theft, wrapping himself in the flag of a righteous whistleblower who simply couldn’t tolerate injustice. The school would have no choice but to intervene. An official inquiry would be launched. Kamuro would be summoned for interrogation.
By that stage, Yamauchi would believe he held all the cards. He wouldn’t back down; retreating would only expose his own malice.
And that was precisely the moment Kaedehara Tetsu would step onto the stage.
While Yamauchi stood tall, pointing his finger at a cornered Kamuro, Tetsu would play his real hand. He would step forward, calmly analyzing the footage, and point out the glaring anomalies. He would reveal that the video was a malicious deepfake—a heavily doctored clip where an innocent student’s face had been digitally swapped with Kamuro’s to serve a blackmailer’s sick desires.
In the span of a single breath, the board would flip.
Yamauchi Haruki would plummet from a righteous hero to a disgusting predator—a villain who forged digital evidence, attempted sexual extortion, and filed a false report to the administration. His frantic, stammering excuses would shatter against the weight of Tetsu’s irrefutable proof. His own stupidity would dig his grave.
Meanwhile, Kamuro Masumi would be left staring at the boy who had just pulled her back from the absolute brink of expulsion. The psychological whiplash of facing ruin, only to be miraculously saved, would plant a very deep, very complex seed of reliance in her heart.
