Honkai Impact: My Power Grows When Valkyries Fall For Me — Chapter 100

September 7, 2026 Calculating...

Chapter 100: See You Tonight

By the time the group arrived at the hotel, it was already two in the afternoon.

Standing in the opulent lobby, Lucian watched the front desk staff skillfully handle the check-in procedures for everyone. As the polished marble floors reflected the light from the crystal chandeliers, a sudden, unsettling thought surfaced in his mind.

‘Wait a minute… where are they staying?’

“Which floor are they staying on?” he murmured, the question escaping his lips before he could stop it.

Rita, who had been standing gracefully nearby, turned her head, that familiar, all-knowing smile playing on her lips. “The same floor as you, Mr. Lucian.”

Her voice was a smooth, pleasant melody as she elaborated, “Miss Kiana’s room is directly next to yours. Miss Mei’s is across the hall from you, and Miss Bronya’s is adjacent to Miss Mei’s.”

Lucian froze for a fraction of a second.

This arrangement…

It was far too deliberate, wasn’t it?

He met Rita’s gaze. Her burgundy eyes, full of playful teasing, confirmed his suspicions.

“Did Otto order this?” he asked, his voice low.

“Yes, Lord Lucian,” she replied, the honorific delivered with perfect poise.

“…”

The corner of Lucian’s mouth twitched. Who in their right mind would believe this room assignment was a mere coincidence?

He was now thoroughly convinced that Otto was actively trying to curry favor with him. Why else would he go out of his way to arrange for the girls’ rooms to be right next to his? Ever since the Overseer learned he could travel through time, he was probably just biding his time, waiting for the day Lucian would go back and save Kallen. This felt like a very transparent, very Otto-like bribe.

After completing the check-in, the group made their way to their designated floor.

The hallway was lined with a plush, dark carpet that muffled their footsteps. Abstract paintings hung on the walls, and the warm, yellow glow of elegant wall lamps bathed the entire corridor in a soft, inviting light.

Kiana stopped at her door but didn’t immediately go inside. Instead, she turned to look at Lucian, a clear hint of expectation sparkling in her azure eyes.

“Lucian, where is your room?”

Lucian simply pointed to the door right next to hers.

Kiana’s eyes lit up instantly. “Great!”

She practically skipped over to Lucian’s door, her hand reaching out to touch the handle before she paused, turning back to him with a hopeful expression.

“Can I come find you tonight?”

Lucian was taken aback. His gaze instinctively flickered across the hall to Mei.

Mei was standing at her own door, key card in hand, a gentle smile gracing her features. Yet, the way she was watching him was undeniably meaningful. Her eyes shifted from him to Kiana, then back again.

She let out a soft chuckle.

“Kiana, Lucian just got off the plane,” she said, her voice light and airy, yet carrying a certain weight. “He must be tired.”

Her smile widened slightly. “Let him rest first.”

Kiana blinked, processing her words, then nodded in understanding. “Oh, right… okay then.”

She reluctantly let go of Lucian’s door handle and turned toward her own room. After taking two steps, however, she looked back over her shoulder.

“But dinner tonight is fine, right?”

Lucian looked at the undisguised anticipation written all over her face and couldn’t help but smile warmly. “Yeah.”

A satisfied grin spread across Kiana’s face. She pushed open her door and vanished inside.

A moment later, Bronya floated over, her movements silent and precise. She stopped directly in front of him, her placid gray eyes observing him quietly for a second before she spoke.

“The Bronya will also come tonight.”

Having delivered her declaration, she turned and headed to her room without another word.

The hallway fell silent, leaving only Mei and Lucian standing face-to-face across the carpeted expanse.

Mei was in no hurry to enter her room. She simply watched Lucian, her fingertips lightly tracing the edge of her key card. As he met her gaze, Lucian suddenly realized that even though they had only been apart for a few days, seeing her again felt strangely different.

It wasn’t that they had grown distant—far from it. It was that Mei herself seemed to have changed, just a little. It was still the same beautiful face, the same deep purple eyes, the same gentle expression he knew so well. But now, hidden within the depths of her gaze, were emotions he couldn’t quite decipher. A newfound confidence, perhaps? A subtle possessiveness that hadn’t been there before?

“What are you looking at?” Mei’s soft voice broke through his thoughts.

Lucian snapped back to reality, realizing he had been staring. “Nothing,” he said, looking away as he felt a faint heat rise in his cheeks. His voice came out a bit dry.

Mei let out another soft laugh. The sound was light as a feather, but it somehow made his heart skip a beat.

“Lucian.”

She closed the distance between them, stopping just inches in front of him. She had to tilt her head up to meet his gaze, and in those captivating purple eyes, a faint, lingering smile now swirled.

“Hmm?” he managed.

Mei didn’t answer with words.

Instead, she rose onto her tiptoes and lightly, gently, brushed her lips against his.

It was a fleeting touch, soft and warm, over in an instant yet leaving a searing impression.

“See you tonight,” she whispered, her breath ghosting across his skin.

With that, she turned and walked to her room. The door clicked shut behind her, leaving Lucian utterly alone in the quiet hallway.

He stood there, stunned, staring at the closed door across from him for several long seconds.

…It seemed tonight wouldn’t be very peaceful.

Shaking his head with a wry sigh, he pushed open his own door.

The room was exactly as he had left it. The curtains were half-drawn, allowing slivers of afternoon sun to filter through the gaps and dance across the floor. He walked to the window and looked out at the sprawling cityscape of London. In the distance, Tower Bridge stood as a timeless silhouette, and the Thames River shimmered under the sunlight.

He stood there for a while before finally collapsing onto the large, comfortable bed, staring up at the blank white ceiling.

His phone vibrated on the nightstand.

Lucian picked it up and saw a message from Kiana.

[Idiotka: Lucian! Can you see Tower Bridge from your window?]

[Lucian: Yeah, I can see it.]

[Idiotka: Awesome! I can see it from here too! We can look at the night view together tonight!]

[Lucian: Okay.]

[Idiotka: Then I’m going to sleep for a bit, I’m so sleepy…]

[Lucian: Mm, go ahead and sleep.]

He put down his phone, a faint smile curling the corners of his mouth. The distant, muted sounds of the city drifted in from outside, and the sunlight filtering into the room remained warm and comforting.

Lucian closed his eyes. This time, sleep came to him quickly.

When he woke up again, the sky outside had already darkened.

The horizon was ablaze with the orange-red glow of sunset, painting the iconic silhouette of Tower Bridge in a warm, stunning outline.

Lucian sat up, rubbing his slightly aching neck, and checked his phone.

6:23 PM.

Several unread messages were waiting on the screen.

[Idiotka: Lucian! Are you awake? I’m hungry!]

[Idiotka: Reply quickly reply quickly reply quickly~]

[Mei: Are you awake? Kiana says she’s hungry. I’m considering whether to take her to eat first.]

[Bronya: The Bronya is hungry.]

Lucian looked at the string of messages and couldn’t help but chuckle.

He sent a group reply: [Awake. See you in the lobby in ten minutes.]

Then, he got up and went to the bathroom to splash some cold water on his face. In the mirror, his eyes were still bleary from sleep, and his hair was a bit of a mess. He wet his fingertips, tidied his bangs casually, then gathered his hair and tied it into its usual high ponytail. After shrugging on a fresh jacket, he walked out of the room.

The hallway was perfectly quiet.

Just as he reached the elevator bay, the door to the room next to his creaked open.

Kiana poked half her head out. Seeing him, her eyes lit up instantly.

“Lucian! You’re finally awake!”

She hopped out from behind the door, scurried to his side in a few quick steps, and naturally, possessively, took his arm.

“I’ve been waiting for you for so long!” she declared.

Lucian looked down at her, an amused glint in his eyes. “Weren’t you sleeping, too?”

“That’s different!” Kiana retorted righteously. “I woke up earlier than you!”

Lucian raised an eyebrow but decided not to call her out on the likely fabrication.

Just then, the doors across the hall and next to Kiana’s opened one after another.

Mei emerged, having changed into a light-colored dress that softened her features. Her long, deep-purple hair was draped over her shoulders, making her look even more gentle than she had during the day. She walked gracefully to Lucian’s side and stood on his other arm, a silent claim.

Bronya floated out from her room, her gray eyes scanning the trio before her gaze settled on Lucian’s face.

“The Bronya thinks tonight will be very lively,” she stated, her tone as calm and robotic as ever, yet the words carried a subtle, knowing weight.

The corner of Lucian’s mouth twitched. He was now flanked on both sides, a human centerpiece for the evening’s unfolding drama.

“Let’s go,” he sighed, already resigned to his fate.
